It’s always good to have perspective in life. I want to give you some info about what my perspective is as a Christian.
God created the earth. (In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1) Why should you trust this instead of the “facts” of evolution? Well, there are a lot of unanswered questions about evolution such as, if the big bang theory was true, where did the matter that just happened to be floating around in the precise circumstances in which they would collide and form a universe, where did that matter come from? See, the big bang theory doesn’t even fully answer the question. That’s just one of the problems. Even evolutionists can’t deny that evolution doesn’t answer all of the questions. Christianity however has answers. God made the world out of nothing.
Jesus is God’s son. (For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever would believe in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16) The bible clearly states that Jesus is the Son of God. How else could he have had power to overcome death?
Jesus died and rose again, and took on the just wrath of God, to pay for the penalty of sin. (John 19:18 And there they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. Luke 24:6-7 “He is not here but he is risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.”) Some people say that Jesus’ death was all a hoax, but I’m going to use one of the multiple pieces of evidence here to demonstrate why I believe Jesus’ death was real. The testimonies of the disciples all state the same facts. The disciples were all dispersed throughout the ancient world during the time when the New Testament books were written. If it alll had been a hoax or a made up story, then wouldn’t disciples have forgotten parts and told the story differently from the original version? But no, somehow the disciples all knew exactly what each other would say, and they all said the same thing. The most reasonable explanation is that it was real not a story.
Jesus’ death alone paid for our sin. (John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. Romans 10:13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.) If you trust that Jesus is the son of God, that he died and paid the price for your sin, and ask him to forgive you for your sins, you will be saved.
